i settled on the tagline for this blog, “liveblogging the apocalypse”, well before the election — it’s not a fresh concept. a particular facet i feel like exploring now is that notion that came around during pandemic — for interactions, assume(x), where x = “the feeling of everything crumbling in shocking ways so fast that we’re reeling”
talking to each other during pandemic had “… y’know, because of the shutdown.” in this moment, what with the fascist takeover, US-backed genocide, in-your-face oligarchy, crumbling globalism — take your pick — it’s been shortened to a strained “y’know” if anything at all, a “y’know” too wretched and sad to begin thinking about unless it’s to scream and laugh.
what’s certainly true is there are fewer rules right now. it’ll be an adjustment.
