i need an association with ‘good morning’ that isn’t “good morning to everyone EXCEPT…” or the beginning of ‘Graduation’, cuz neither of those is a good morning. really i need my brain to not jump to the nearest cultural reference in response to quite literally everything.

“subscribe now” pop-ups, cookie hasslers, etc. are the drug store deodorant lockboxes of current web design. apart from the fact that we litigated this in the 90s — you’re looking at the minority of the equation if you think it hasn’t gone too far.
i couldn’t care less if your newsletter signup conversion rate goes up. i’m sure it quadruples or some shit. but you’re pissing the rest of us off. “you wouldn’t believe how much deodorant lockboxes reduce theft” BUT DID THEY ALSO REDUCE SALES, STU?
DID THEY MAKE PEOPLE STOP GOING TO YOUR STORRRRRE?

i finally found a broad-scope rundown about leon rn, including why what he does works (in both good and bad ways), how he’s changed the world, and the general depths of his ego, psychopathy, and danger.
i suspect the reason this particular video scratches the itch for me is because i’m finding it hard to trust any piece of media that is one-sided anymore. even on something so overt as elmo’s clear and present danger.

ok i love how there’s literally nobody following this and i’m STILL getting worked up in my head about posting due to “taking up too much space”.
it’s going to be harder than i thought to get back to this.
